The Inaugural Journey West is this Thursday!

Count down the days because the first Journey West with Alamo Music’s Guitar Wars kicks off in Legacy Park this Thursday, October 23rd from 6-9pm. Walk around the neighborhood and partake in $5 deals from our neighbors: Pinkerton’s, Double Standard, Leo’s Hideout, Gunter Hotel, High Praise, Casa Doson, Barber Shop on Main, and so many more!

Live music won’t be limited to Guitar Wars, during Journey West, Sojourn Trading Co., will have live jazz from the Rat King Cole Band. Artpace will be unveiling their new rooftop lounge with sounds from DJ Jevonchi, 300 Main will have a live jazz pianist, Christopher Vu, outside their front door, and the brand new Kaedama Noodle Bar will host DJ collective House Arrest. Stamp Your Passport to Win Prizes!

Looking for your next favorite spot? Pick up a passport in Legacy Park or at any participating business to enter for a chance to win one of the one of three grand prizes.

Here’s how to enter:

1. Follow @downtownwestsa on Instagram and/or join our monthly newsletter.

2. Purchase at least one item from a participating business to earn a stamp on your passport.

3. A minimum of at least three stamps are required for contest entry.

4. Return your completed passport to the Downtown West booth at Legacy Park by 10pm to qualify for our prizes!

You must complete your travels the night of Journey West and return your passport to the Downtown West booth for a chance to win some great prizes. The winner will be chosen within the next week and announced on social media and email. Happy exploring!

Alamo Music’s Guitar Wars is ON!

At the center of Journey West is Guitar Wars! Watch 25 guitarists battle to win the ultimate prizes from 6-10pm in Legacy Park. Each soloist will have 2 minutes to prove themselves in front of our panel of esteemed judges. Between some serious shredding, attendees will be treated to a special halftime show by Favorite Son featuring some special guests!

Legacy Park will be the place to be between your passport travels! During Guitar Wars you can catch Alamo Records $5 record pop-up, Pinkerton’s mobile bar serving the Best Damn Old Fashioned, DandeLion craft lemonades, Alamo Music’s pop-up to buy your Guitar Wars memorabilia, and Downtown West’s very own booth where you can see the passport prizes live, grab some sleek merch, and hear more about what’s coming next!
